Riding Lessons & Training

Cornerstone Horsemanship specializes in versatility ranch horse events and stock horses, ranch riding and ranch trail, and starting western performance horses under saddle. Both private and group lessons are offered focusing on basic riding skills up to show prep in multiple western/ranch versatility disciplines.  Cattle and buffalo work and trail obstacle work available.

Finally Farm offers private and small group lessons available to boarders and haul-in riders.

Showcasing a newly renovated facility, Highpoint Farm offers both indoor and outdoor arena’s with pastures overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition to English riding lessons for all ages and riding levels, Highpoint Farm specializes in deprograming racing horses (OTTB). Full boarding, lay-up boarding, and training board are available.

Ironwood Farm has been serving the equestrian community since 1998, specializing in breeding, training, and selling Norwegian Fjord horses. Encompassing 132 acres of rolling hills, woods and streams, Ironwood Farm is the largest Norwegian Fjord Horse farm in Virginia. Norwegian Fjords are a light draft breed know for their good temperament and versatility under saddle or in harness. Originally domesicated over 4,000 years ago, the Norwegian Fjord Horse is one of the world’s oldest and purest breeds. Ironwood horses compete in dressage, driving, eventing, and draft. Ironwood Farm sells Norwegian Fjord horses throughout the United States and has been recognized by the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry as an ambassador for the breed.

Liberty Hall hosts many different disciplines with something to enrich any horseman – trail and pleasure riding lessons for all riding abilities, with one-time visits or lesson packages.  Western trail and roping lessons are available for private or groups.  Liberty Hall offers polo lesson packages for any level of experience and fields Interscholastic Polo Teams for ages 10-18 years old.

Field hunt lessons for experienced riders are available for those looking to try out Fox Hunting.  Liberty Hall can provide mounts for Foxhunting and Polo for qualified riders.

Set on a picturesque 38 acres and featuring a 80×150 indoor riding ring, a 150×200 outdoor riding ring, and trails, Misty Run Eventing offers both private and group riding lessons and show teams. The farm also offers working student program.
